Jesus teaches that you can't enter a strong man's house unless you first bind the strong man (Matthew 12:28, 29). There are 12 demonic spirits or strong men in Scripture that have authority over the lesser demonic powers that come under their domain. When we understand our authority under Christ as kingdom people, we can bind these strong men in a manner that makes spiritual warfare most efficient. The 12 strong men are as follows:
spirit of antichrist - 1 John 4:2,3: all spirits that attack or undermine the Divinity of Christ
spirit of bondage - Romans 8:15: all spirits of addiction, bitterness, bondage and drugs
deaf and dumb spirit - Mark 9:17-25: spirits related to suicide, lunacy and seizures
familiar spirit - Deut. 18:10-12: all occult related spirits, astrology, fortune telling, etc.
spirit of fear - 2 Timothy 1:7: spirits related to phobias, fears, worries, inadequacy, etc.
spirit of heaviness - Isaiah 61:3: spirits related to despair, gloom, grief, depression, etc.
spirit of infirmity - Luke 13:11: spirits that may be related to any form of sickness/disease
spirit of jealousy - Proverbs 6:34: spirits of anger, revenge, rage, hatred, murder, profanity
lying spirit - 2 Chron. 18:22: all spirits of religion, superstition, hypocrisy and self-deception
perverse spirit - Isaiah 19:14: spirits relating to lust, fornication, adultery & sexual perversion
spirit of pride - Proverbs 16:18: spirits of arrogance, gossip, stubborness & self-righteousness
spirit of whoredom - Hosea 4:12: all spirits of idolatry, self-worship and selfish compromise
